Marilyn Lanier is a second year doctoral student in Science Education in the School of Education at Virginia Tech. She earned a Master's of Education from Cambridge College, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She brings more than 18 years of classroom experience teaching secondary science in the public school system in the United States and the Department of Defense Dependent Schools, Europe (DoDDS-E). Her teaching experiences span from the east coast including South Carolina, Georgia, and Louisiana, to the mid western states of Tennessee and Texas and even reach as far as Germany. Her studies focus on science education and culture as it relates to pedagogical knowledge in practice.
Mrs. Lanier serves on the Curriculum Development Team for the Mobile Malawi Project Team.
